Why won't my tablet delete browser history anymore?

For some unknown reason my tablet does not delete any history when I press the title for a second as I once did. After pressing down on the no longer needed heading, the tablet would the give me the option to delete the heading. Now, it states "cannot delete from history". Can someone please help me?
