What/where is the immersion indicator?
How do I tell if an iPod Nano might have water damage? I've read about the indicator but don't know exactly where to look for it. Yeah, this is probably a DUH question, but I'm a newbie to iPods.

Generally speaking, iPods/iPhones have one indicator in the headphone jack, and another inside the dock connector. You just look straight down into the hole, and if you see pink/red, you may be out of luck. In the dock connector, it may be in the middle of one of the long sides.

Interesting - I have a gen 5 that I picked up cheap at a garage sale because it wasn't working. I checked the places you mention, there is no red or pink color. When I took the iPod apart, however, there was corrosion all over the logic board and other inside parts! LOL, always something new to learn about these electronic creatures.
