Why is sound not synchronised with vision?

Occasionally the sound on my LG smart TV is out of sync with the vision. This is particularly noticeable with speech. It can be rectified by switching off and restarting, sometimes this has to be done more than once.

Is there a setting that controls this and will ensure the sound and vision remains in sync?
