Internal speaker does not play . Left channel works when using an external speaker cord but right is dead. This is the 5th Garmin I've had that has had this trouble. It sounds like a broken jack or motherboard connection the may have lifted. Any help on how to get at it to repair. Garmin no longer supports this model 680 or 785T both Nuvis.

Here is a link that shows how to replace the battery in a Garmin Nuvi 680. It is relevant because it shows how to open the unit so that you can gain access to the systemboard and connections. Once open you may be able to ascertain what is the problem with the internal speaker and the headphone socket.
