After screen repair, the IPad air sleeps when cover is flipped

I have just had the screen on my IPad air replaced. Replacement was done by the local geek store and with a OEM screen.

Now when I flip the iPad air smart cover to lying across the back of the iPad it causes the screen to shut off (as you would expect it to do on the screen, not on the rear of the iPad).

So now it can go into sleep mode when the cover is closed, and when the cover is fully flipped to the back.

Does anyone know how I can repair this? I am reluctant to send it back for more repairs.
