cant copy contacts to sim

I try to copy contacts from Nokia 6102i phone memory to the sim card so I can transfer to another phone but I get "115 contacts not copied" message. I try copying one at a time and get similar message. However if I transfer the card to another phone I am able to transfer to the card normally. If I return the card back to the phone I can copy info from the sim back to the phone but I can not copy from my Nokia to sim. Also If I use a new sim card from the new phone, I still can not copy to the new card. Why is this and how to remedy this situation?

Have you ever been able to write to the sim card from this phone ? Some phones only have the ability to read not write. This may be the case
