Hi,

Have you got the latest ATKACPI driver for your model laptop and OS?

Here is a link, select your model, then select your OS scroll down to ATKACPI and download and install. There have been numerous and various problems regarding Win10 (you don't say your OS) and Asus laptops. They have mostly been resolved by installing the latest driver from Asus. Do not be tempted to install all the various drivers available. If something works in Win10 e.g. video, Audio, LAN, Wifi Touchpad etc. leave it alone. Just do the one. It will make problem solving easier if a problem occurs because you know what you have done and what is likely to be the cause.

If that didn't work try the following:

Almost all the latest BIOSs have a setting for auto power on after power is restored.

In the BIOS in Advanced Power Management (APM) look for this option

Restore from AC power loss [always OFF| always ON| last state]

Set this to your preference, Save the BIOS settings and restart the system.

Also here is a link (ignore the possibility of a mouse starting it) which details methods of finding out what started your laptop.

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hi,

Can you try a 'System Restore' to a point just before you think that the trouble began? It shouldn't affect your data, but do a backup first, just to be safe. It will affect programs that you have installed since that date, they will not work, also any updates done to any programs e.g Anti Virus, Windows updates etc, will have to be re done. Do not do any until you see if your problem has been resolved by the restore. If it has, it was something that was installed or updated since the restore date that caused the problem. Then comes the slow process of finding out what it was. If you want to that is. You should 'update' your A/V and Windows (via Windows Update) and any program that you need that has been affected by the restore and see how it goes.
