My charging port is broken

To answer your question the charge port can be repaired. The hardest part of this repair is the removal of the back case on this phone. It is can be a true challenge to remove the back case on the m7 and is most likely the reason for the low repairability score for this phone. Once the back case is removed the rest of the repair is fairly easy in my opinion. The charge port sits on a small circuit board which has a flex cable that fits into a connection on the motherboard. The part can simply be removed and replaced and requires no soldering, it does require removing some screws with a #00 philips screwdriver as well as peeling back some tape on the motherboard to access the charge ports connection to the motherboard. There is not a step by step guide yet on this site for just replacing the charge port but you can take a look at the teardown of the m7 to get an idea of how to get access to and remove the charge port and replace it yourself.

If you do not feel comfortable performing the repair yourself you can find many professionals on the ifixit site who can do the repair for you. You can look through the members pages to find someone to do the repair and many have their contact information on their members page, so you can contact them for pricing and so on. Some people do this as a profession and others a hobby.
