My camera is stuck on Auto, it will no longer do video
when i try to switch to the video selection it still shows that it is on AUTO and will not activate the video feature

Hi,
Have you tried to "reset" the camera and see if it restores back to normal operation?
Here is a link to the user manual. Scroll to p.80-81 for a description on how to perform a factory reset.

It resets all the camera settings (other than the Date/Time,Time Difference, Background Colour and Video System) to the factory default values.
