Sony Vaio VPCEA24FM Charging port not accepting acknowledgement of being plugged in and charge cannot take place. The computer is shutting off even when the port is accepting the plug. I would like to get this issue repaired, as this laptop is barely used and has great capabilities for my needs.

It is either the charger or the port itself. Check the charger using a multi meter (if you don't have one you probably know someone that does, or you can buy one online for cheap. If the charger is fine then it is the port which is usually separate from the motherboard and fairly cheap to replace.
