tablet won't stay on

Why is my tablet going back to the start screen after I turn it on? It won't let me continue after I have chosen an application? It only let me stay on an app for about 2-3 seconds ,then shuts down and will go to the start page again.

does it do this on all apps or just certain ones does it function normally on videos and or music , can you take pictures ? Can you use the web browser ?

by your start screen do you mean the boot screen with the Samsung logo or do you mean your home page?

Works for up to 80-85% of battery then shuts down.

My LG Tablet wont stay on it acts like battery is dead except it says 100 percent please help
