LCD Not Working - Digitizer Is Fine

I bought a nexus 9 off ebay with a cracked screen. I also bought a replacement for it on ebay (whole assembly). I replaced the screen without any problems, however the lcd does not work. The device charges and powers on, the digitizer seems to work (stuff happens when I swipe and push), everything seems to be fine except for the actual LCD.

I have replaced the cable connecting the MB with the LCD with no success.

For what it's worth, the seller on ebay did mention they couldn't get the lcd to work either (after the drop). I figured it would be fixed with a new lcd, but apparently not.

Any suggestions? Is there any possibility there is a software issue?
