Stirrup brackets attatching phones to swivel broke

The stirrup that holds the ear cup and attaches it to the swivel on the headband is broken. I cannot find a repairpart anywhere.

Short of casting a mould and making one myself whats to be done?

Rant:

I recieved these as a gift. The sturrup broke in less than a year.

bold text

How can a company charge 200 bucks, or is it 289, and build it with such inferior parts. These sturrips are plastic, and none too thick. Grrrrrr

There have been MANY comments about just this breakage and the plastic itself is indeed very weak. In every case Bose have stated that they can't (won't) repair and no replacement parts are available. Instead they only offer an expenditure of minimum $90 to upgrade.

Fortunately, I'm very handy when it comes to fixing things and I tested both superglue and polystyrene cement on the plastic. I have as a result used superglue on one side and poly cement on the other side.

Superglue has an advantage because once one application is dry, then additional applications can be added to build up a very strong joint.

I used polymorph plastic (polycaprolactone) to build a support all around the broken part, and it's not pretty but it seems to be holding up fine.

This was a fantastic idea. I had never heard of this material before either, despite being around (& doing) lots of clay, plasticine, wood putty, and papier mache. I probably should've used some epoxy with it.
