Black screen, yet on?

My playstation 2 was working fine, but then it had trouble with sounds. After not playing it for awhile, when i started it up again the sounds were all messed up. Now when i turn it on, and it runs with a green light, it has a black screen? In case its important, whenever you moved the aux cords the screen would go in and out of black.
