CD drive won't stay closed; how do I fix this?
I bought a used ibook G3, and the CD drive won't stay closed. I have to tape it in the closed position to use it.

If the drive door won't stay closed you have two options.
1. If the drive works and you can accept the inconvenience leave it be and continue taping.
2. If it doesn't work or you hate the taping you need to replace the drive. In that case I am including links showing how to change out the drive and where to obtain the part. Good luck Ralph

Many thanks for your reply. I had hoped that a catch was just sticking, but I believe that you are right. I will take you advice and keep using it as it is, by taping the drive closed.
