You must match the resolution, backlight, and screen size to your current screen. You cannot deviate from your current screen specifications. A screen with different specifications will not work with your system.
In this case--you should be able to, yes, as both laptops use identical screens with the same 40-pin connector. Worst case scenario, you're looking at about a $70-$75 part.
