How easy is it to replace the charging port?
My charging port is rarely works and so I need to replace it or pay for it to be replaced. How easy would it be to replace it?

It's not easy. The USB port is soldered on the motherboard. So you will need to re-soldered the new part with professional tools such as welder.

As opposed to a soldering iron with a thin tip?
Have same problem and Moto Tech support said that even if the phone is in warranty, they'd treat any USB port issue as 'tear and wear' (sic) so would charge to fix it. which leads me to believe that they've cheapened production in some way, as it was never an issue with my 18-month old Razr i.
