IPAD red fuzzy screen replace LCD?

iPad 2

The second generation of the iPad with Wi-Fi, GSM and CDMA models. Some models were refreshed before the iPad 3. Repair is difficult and requires heat and prying. Released on March 11th, 2011. Model numbers: A1395, A1396, and A1397.

IPAD red fuzzy screen replace LCD?

I attempted to replace the digitizer on an ipad 2 and since then the screen is doing the red fuzzy thing. I have tried unplugging and plugging the LCD connectors and doing the drop/slap solution but it is still red and fuzzy. Is this an issue with the LCD itself or with another component? I can replace the LCD if need be.

Thatnks for the reponse. I have tried all the above. The logic board and connectors look absolutely fine. I have ordered a new lcd cable just in case but i dont think this is the issue. Would replacing the lcd solve this problem or is it another part that is at fault?

75% can be solve replacing LCD, 25% it can be motherboard fault. Change the new display and let me know the status, if same fault observed i will help you to fix the fault on logic board.

Try to reboot first

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds
Check the module contacts fixed properly to logic board
if fault remain same plug the device to iTunes and see whether device detected or not
Try to Restore via iTunes
If all steps not works for you, you may have to get new module

I had the same problem also on an iPad 2 eventually found a bad conection on cap just above the r47 filter reworked it and all was good

Ps I tried other LCD's I have all the same red fuzzy stuff around the images

Isnt the 4r7 coil for the backlight? The backlight on mine seems to work fine its just the image itself which is bad. I was hoping that it was the actual LCD that was bad because i can easily get a new one...whereas fiddling with the smaller components is a bit beyond me.

Simon Milo Mitchell Jones, you are correct. 4R7 is LCD back light Driving inductor. but there were capacitor and diode filtering output visuals but i don't think that your case is coming from filters.
