Non-standard Sata adapter? (pic)

I purchased this drive & recently had the idea to try to update it to use usb3.0. I figured that the internal drive just used a standard SATA connector. It does not. This connector has 56 pins and uses a FFC, cable.

I still would like to upgrade the external connector to usb 3.0, however I can't seem to figure out what type of adapter I need or even the standard that this uses.
