Is it possible to disassemble the front panel assembly?

I have cracked the screen of my 2nd gen. Nexus 7, and it became unresponsive, so I bought a new one (+digitizer). Unfortunately I realized only too late that the piece I get at the end of the teardown is an assembly of the screen, digitizer and other important parts.

Is it easy enough, with a hair dryer, to disassemble the front panel assembly, or should I give up and return the screen and digitizer?
