Touch screen gone black when fixing screen

I was replacing the screen of my Ipod 5 (16GB, no camera) when i was done the screen was perfectly working i was about to put everything together then suddenly it went black.The screen still brightens up but all i see is black and i also cant reset it because the home button doesn't work. How can i make the screen go back to its normal self?
