Nano stops playing often
while listening using earphones, my nano will pause causing me to press the pause/play.
after a while, it will do the same again.

sounds like a loose connection or lint/dirt inside the headphone jack.
the iPod pauses when you unplug the headphones and if there is a connection problem - it will also pause.
look inside the headphone jack - is it white or red ?
if it's white - i would go to apple and let them fix that
