Why does my PS3 controller go completely berserk?

Whenever turn on the PS3 the controllers just starts choosing options that match the buttons out of nowhere without them being pressed and when i set them down they freak out and vibrate out of control. For Example I'll try to select Netflix or a game or adjust any settings and all of the sudden with either a press of a button or a hand jerk, it will go everywhere without me pressing the buttons. I've opened them to clean the contacts, saw they were straight and not bent or folded and put it back together with worse results, everything is intact and in working order but they won't cooperate for a second. It's getting too expensive to keep replacing controllers and I need solutions to fix these menaces, maybe i can sell the 17 others I don't need for some damage coverage after I fix them.
