Power button & "jumpstarting" no longer working to power on or off..

MacBook os x 2.4ghz intel core duo 5gb 1067 mhz ddr3

My macbook didnt power on by using the power on button when I got it but i quickly learned about the option of whats known to be called "jump-starting" it... that was going fine to boot it up for a few weeks, no problems with doing that whatsoever. However, now that has stopped working as well to turn my macbook on and off. when its plugged in, i do get the green "charging" light that comes on but nothing happens by using the power button or "jumpstarting" it..... PLEASE HELP!!

Disconnect the top case ribbon cable to the logic board and check the voltage on the power pads. You should get 3.42 volts on one of the two pads, thats the voltage needed to power on the logic board. If you don't get the good voltage (even if the magsafe tip light is alive) there's a problem down the power line (G3 hot rail) somewhere on the logic board. Was this macbook liquid damaged ?
