When I power-on the camera I get a SYSTEM ERROR 40 message (4 over 0).

What does this mean? Does it refer to a specific problem?

This is how the error message appears on the camera LCD display.

The Coolpix 4600 repair manual does not address the occurrence of SYSTEM ERRORs.
