Water damage - backlight not working
After dropping my iPhone down the toilet everything is working fine except the rather indispensible backlight. Can this be repaired?

maybe you need a new lcd (!) - sometimes are the contacts on the logicboard simply burned away - i would first check the connector on the logicboard - if the connector looks ok and everything else is clean - you have to replace the lcd.
fluid damages shortens the electronics and that can cause many problems - it's an absolute must to clean the logicboard with ipa or special electronic cleaners and after that you can go and replace the necessary parts
