How to re-attach the "Display Data Cable"

So, a while ago my ipod stopped working, it was stuck in a loop of the startup screen. I didn't do anything for a while, but then more recently I decided to try and fix the home button so I could try and reset it. However, after taking it apart and putting it back together, I haven't been able to get it to turn back on. As far as my limited knowledge can tell, the problem is that I can't manage to re-connect the display data cable between the display and the body.

Extra: If I connect it to my Macbook, iTunes won't detect it unless I put it into recovery mode, which is why I think it is the screen. Also, it isn't the backlight because the screen isn't showing anything.
