Cannot get past opening screen
This iphone 3g will not take a charge or go beyond the opening screen when I turn it on. If I unplug the charger it goes dead. It will not update even though itunes finds it. What could cause this?

You probably need a new battery. You can order one here and then use this replacement guide. Be sure that you have the proper tools - if there are any that you don't have, you can order the battery replacement kit for a few dollars more.
