What is the purpose of adhesive on Nexus 5 bottom?

My Nexus 5 was dead (for no reason). I performed a teardown and found that the bottom of the device has 2 adhesives tape (as mentioned by ifixit, too). From my view, that sticker has no purpose of holding things together, as it is kind of weak, and the backcover clip is strong enough to hold everything.

Is it to check warranty void purpose?
