I have an IPAD 2 and the sound stopped coming out for things like music and videos. Ringer alerts work and sound out of headphones. I did all reboots and reset to factory specs, dust etc and still not working.
The store just wants to replace and local shop said it may be the motherboard. I dont know is wrong so I can get the appropriate parts...speaker assembly, logic board.
Thanks..any help would be great as to what is wrong

I think there is a separate volume toggle in settings for the music app. Is it possible that this setting is just all the way down?
Seems odd that one would work, but not the other.
As far as hardware to replace, you will need a new logic board. The speaker assembly should be fine if you can hear other sounds coming out.

There aren't any. You will have to head over to Ebay to find a used one.
They are expensive to replace. It's not always worth it. You may want to just live with it as is, then upgrade to a new iPad in the future.

Thanks. Am i missing the logic board on the parts list for the IPad 2 Wi-Fi (EMC 2415) or there aren't any....

Double click home button slide to the right and check for the mute button there
