Why won't it read a brand new disk

What game is it, some games are dual layered and are a little bit harder to be read by the Wii. You may want to consider buying a Wii cleaning kit off Amazon or eBay and it may fix your problem.

Does it read other ones? If not I would suggest the drive is broken or at least (this what I noticed concerning the most Superdrives of Apple from 2008 and 2009) dirty (dirty lense).

The kachink sound means the optical drive sagged and will start scratching the disk.
