3 Water damaged no display getting hot
After it got soaked in the lake I disassembled it cleaned the board with alcohol and even replaced the battery. Now when I plug it in nothing shows up on the screen it just gets really hot. What could it be?

What percentage and kind of alcohol did you use? (see How do I clean corrosion after water damage?)
From what I know, alcohol is bad for the screen. If you got it on there, the display is probably toast. I'm not sure if that could also be the cause of the battery heating up.
My first step when one of my users gets their iPhone wet is to get one of the "thirsty bags" from ifixit or get a bag of rice and throw it in there for a week.
