Stolen MacBook Pro was returned, but not charging and no battery life.

First, a little backstory.

Back in November, my house was broken into and about $6000 worth of electronics were stolen from me. Long story short, a detective from the Vegas PD called me and told me they had recovered my Macbook. Thank goodness, right?? Sure, but they stripped my 16gb of RAM from it, along with my hard drive because it was passworded, etc. They also did not recover the 85w power supply.

Anyways, I bought all the parts I thought I needed. All I'm waiting for to come in right now is the replacement RAM, but with the hard drive installed at least, shouldn't it be charging? Or does everything have to be installed for the battery to charge? There's no light on the Magsafe adapter at all, and as far as I can tell, everything else is intact. Any suggestions?

Did you see any internal damage when they took out the HD?

完成的

Okay, got the RAM installed. Still nothing. No charging light. Tested the charger with a friends macbook and it works just fine. I'm not scared of tearing into it if anyone has suggestions.

And no, no internal damage that I can see at all. I made sure everything on the mobo was connected.

It's possible you'll need to startup your system (with the RAM) in order to reset the SMC logic.

Let us know how it goes.

Will do, thanks. The RAM should be in tomorrow, so I'll update then.
