2 How to fix iPod, when restoring and updating can't?
Ok so I recently got an iPod that was in great shape till i went to put it on my dock for some listening enjoyment and thing showed me the hook up screen when you are connecting the device to your pc or mac. Well long story short the iPod wouldn't get off the screen even when i reset it and restored it. So I tried restoring and updating it but there was some error in the restoration process if i cant restore it what other solutions are there in fixing it?
It helps if you tell us which iPod you have.

I have ipod touch 3rd generation i think. I can't get into the settings cause its still showing the showing the same screen.

All you see is the screen to connect the cable to a USB port? "wouldn't get off the screen even when i reset it and restored it. So I tried restoring and updating it but there was some error in the restoration process" You did or did not get to reset or restore it? Did you try a hard reset?

Well I tried resetting the easy way by the home and standby buttons, that didn't work the same screen came back up. I tried that first. Than I tried connecting it to my computer to restore it to factory default settings, thinking that my solve the problem. The software must be screwed up in some way cause iTunes couldn't extract the software and stopped the restoring process. So after that it cleared the screen up so I can use the touch now. I actually tried the hard reset going through the system you know the one that takes an hour to do, didn't work either. That same stupid screen came up again and I can't use it again.

Have you tried to place your iPod in DFU mode to see if it can be restored.
