How to bring power to touch after water damage

I bought this iPod touch 2nd generation with an intention to basically practice. The iPod is apparently water damaged and does not have any power. I took the digitizer and LCD off and unfortunately destroyed bother of them along with around 10 iPod opening tools. Wow, this has been the hardest one to open so far. I decided it was getting late and didn't want to continue with the dismantling so I figured I would ask ifixit what they think. I noticed the battery seemed soldered to the logic board? Tips and advice are appreciated.
