Nintendo Switch: SD card isn't detected? (replaced)

Hi!! I used the guide here to replace my SD reader!!

(任天堂Switch的Micro SD卡槽的更换)

Before, there were just general errors with games not loading, CFW ran in 1-bit mode, etcetc.

I just replaced it, and it seems that the SD just isn't detected in general? Even if I boot into stock Horizon, normal stuff, it just doesn't load the SD at all.

The guide itself was extremely vague with...what to do for putting it in, basically?

Like, I tried to push it in a lil bit but it never really "connected", and I just figured that I'd leave it how it was? Like, maybe that's just how it works, you don't feel a connection between the two?

Was I supposed to just push it into the connector thingy itself?

Yeah, I replaced the black adhesive pad thingy.

(also it seems that one of my backplate screws got stripped lol, oh well~)

Either way, any help?? Attached are some things that may or may not help, sorry for the VERY blurry pictures...

Do you guys have any help, advice, correction for a VERY stupid error that I made?

thank you very much for your help

Nintendo Switch: Switch cannot read the SD card — but only when joy cons are in..

I’m having a kind of bizarre problem where suddenly my switch will alert me “unable to access micro SD card” — but this only occurs when the joy cons are plugged into the console. When I use them wirelessly, this issue does not occur. Additionally, if I wait a second, the alert will go away and my switch will okay as normally! Does anyone know why this may be happening? Thank you so much!!

Nintendo Switch: Connector that keeps the Switch fan connected broke off

Hello,

I've caused a friend's switch some damage that the fan is not operating now. Everything else works fine thankfully, but it seems like the gray clamp that keeps the connection together snapped off and it looks like the pin on top broke off with it. Here is the condition it is in.

Compared to the image shown here in iFixIt:

This seems like it requires some solder work on the motherboard with a replacement ribbon clamp. Can anyone confirm this is the case or is are there any suggestions we can try?

So far, putting pressure in the area does not help nor did any electrical tape with pressure did either.

Thanks

Update (05/10/2022)

Update to @flannelist. Looks like the connectors look okay? I haven't had any luck trying to put pressure getting the fan to turn on unfortunately. I did order extra pieces of this on this site.

the switch looks fine, there is no damage that is seen and the joy con also has no cosmetic damage that I could see, it just feels loose and falls off randomly. the switch is a limited edition switch that has a ACNH back casing and I would like to try to keep the back casing and casing for the right joy-con, if a replacement casing is needed.
Nintendo Switch: Why won't my Switch Charge?

So my girlfriend recently purchased a Nintendo Switch online and I cannot figure out for the life of me why it won’t charge. Things I have tried are:

Replacing the Battery (Successfully, showed charged, but won’t recharge even with new battery).

Testing multiple USB-C cables, an off-brand, and an on-brand.

The console indicates that it’s charging but the number just falls to depletion.

When connected to the dock, it doesn’t make any difference and does show on the screen as it would on the tablet part.

My question is the fact that I have occurred the forums and tried everything but replacing the USB-C or any of the on circuit chips. Should I try replacing the USB-C connector? Since it is indicating that it is charging, but not actually charging means its more of a chip issue? Are most of the chips repaired with a heat gun?

Thank you in advance for all of your help/suggestions!

Nintendo Switch: Replacement fan is not working

Last night I replaced my Switch’s fan with one received from iFixIt. After closing the system and powering it up I thought it sounded a little too quiet. I gave it a few minutes and the fan never seemed to spin up. I took the back cover off, not the plating, so I could see the fan while the Switch was powered on. It wasn’t spinning at all. I took everything apart and put the old, extremely loud fan back in and that fan spun up as it should, albeit quite loudly. I tried re-seating the cable for the replacement fan and that did not help. Did I simply receive a defective fan or is there something else I should check or be concerned about?

Nintendo Switch: What is this component next to the M92T36?

Some time ago I ran into a problem where my Switch would freeze whenever I tried using the USB-C port for charging or docking or simply plugging in a dongle without anything connected to it. Otherwise it worked fine. Although I don’t want to and won’t go into any details, the problem was caused after the USB port was fed 12v 2a DC without any USB-C compliant power delivery chip, but only for a brief moment. That’s probably why it wasn’t completely bricked. After some sleepless nights I came to the conclusion that it’s probably the M92T36 chip, as it’s core weakness is only being able to support up to 6v without any external USB-C charger chips or other fancies, whereas other chips responsible for charging should (from my understanding) be able to withstand 12-20 volts.

Now that you’re up to speed, here’s the actual problem. I ordered the M92T36 from eBay, hoping to get it soldered on by a local electronics repair shop. When I got back my Switch from the repair guy, I tried turning it on in the shop, only to get greeted with the classic 2101-0001 error during boot. I told him that something’s not right, he blamed it on the fact that the replacement chip I bought had clearly been soldered before. I had seen that before, and just assumed it was because it was picked off from another Switch.

When I get home, I check the area near the chip, and although at first glance in the shop it looked fine, upon closer inspection I notice that something is missing, and something else right next to it has been moved slightly, but not enough to mess up the connections. I look up an image of the motherboard on the iFixit store and there is clearly something missing, a resistor, capacitor, something. I’m no expert on tiny electronics. I’ve attached images. Would be nice to know what that is.

One edge of the M92T36 itself looked sort of scuffed, like there was some gunk shorting all the pins together. Although probably not the smartest idea, I did my best to carefully scrape out that stuff from in between the pins with a thin needle, but that barely did anything, other than add some scratches to the PCB. Again, not something anyone would consider the best solution in this case, but it’s not like I have the tools or knowledge to figure out what’s going on in there the proper way, either.

I don’t know what I plan on getting out of this. I don’t want to wait another month for shipping from eBay only to get screwed over again, or for it to turn out that my needle strategy has nullified my chances, or that the chip itself really is faulty, or that the pins are still short circuited, but then again I also don’t want to buy a new console. Used console-only switches cost like 190 euros on eBay, and as a fifteen-year-old that’s nowhere close to cheap. I guess I’m mostly asking just to see what my options are.

Any help is appreciated.
