Computer will not power on
The laptop will not power on or show any signs of powering on.
Faulty outlet
If your computer isn't turning on, it might not be charging. The cause of this might be a faulty outlet. Try charging your computer while using a different outlet.
Bad power cord
If the computer continues to not turn on then the problem could be the power cord. If the power cord is plugged into the computer, but the light does not come on then you have a faulty power cord. Replace it with a new power cord and try again.
Dead Battery
Make sure you have tried to charge the computer with the given plug in different outlets. If the computer will still not turn on, try replacing the battery. Keep in mind for the future that it is not recommended to use your laptop while it is charging.
Keyboard Malfunctioning
When pressing keys, they are unresponsive or delayed.
Residue on keys
If the keys are sticking there might be residue on them. Try wiping keyboard clean of any possible sticky substances and try again . If keys are still unresponsive, replace the key hinges and cup for any troubled keys.
Stuck Key
Use the same techniques as you would if many keys were sticking, such as whipping the key and checking to make sure nothing is stuck under the specific key. If the key continues to stick follow this individual key replacement guide.
Flickering Screen display
The screen does not display a consistent image.
Laptop is being picked up by the screen
It is very important that you do not pick this laptop up by the screen display because it could hurt the computer. If you have been doing this, pick up the laptop by its base.
Bad LCD cable band
If you are also having trouble viewing high contrast images on this computer, the cable band connecting the LCD needs to be replaced. For more help replacing the LCD cable band, follow this guide.
Black Screen
First always start by turning your laptop on and off again to see if a reboot will help your laptop figure itself out. If that doesn't work try and do a hard reset by holding the power button down until the laptop is fully shut down. Leave it like that for a few minutes and then try turning it on again. If the screen is still black after resetting , follow this guide.
Trouble downloading, saving and updating work
The computer is not able to download, save, or update new and existing files.
Inadequate internet access
Make sure you are connected to a internet source that can support your work. A strong connection is needed to download, upload, and save online files.
Incorrect format
Check to see if your computer allows the type of format trying to be downloaded. If it is not allowed, convert it to an appropriate file type.
Low space on hard drive
When your hard drive is low on space, regular files, such as .JPEG and .PDF, cannot be downloaded. The hard drive should be removed and replaced with a new an/or larger one. For more help replacing the hard drive, follow this guide.
