== Broken Graphics Card Driver ==

If your Lenovo IdeaPad U530 Touch laptop is stuck on a black screen during startup, there may be a problem with the graphics card driver or another internal part of the computer. Before taking apart the computer, there are some other methods to try.

Press and hold the laptop’s power button until the computer turns off. Hold the ‘Shift’ and ‘F8’ keys and press the power button again, and continue holding the ‘Shift’ and ‘F8’ keys until the screen displays “Please Wait.” Then, a recovery screen should appear. If you see a black screen again, retry the previous steps.

From the recovery screen, select ‘See Advanced Repair Options’ —> ‘Troubleshoot’ —> ‘Startup Settings’ —> ‘Restart.’ Your computer should reboot to the Startup Settings screen. Select ‘Enable Safe Mode.’ The laptop should reboot and allow you to log in using Safe Mode.
