Some times and updated drive but mostly a dirty sticky mouse. Carefully open up the mouse air clean and brush debris. I have forgotten the solution I'm thinking rubbing alcohol, I'm sure there is a product to purchase if a computer store is near by.
Buy the replacement part and install it. Fairly easy did mine a week ago. Most hardware stores etc. have a brake cable. Make sure to measure the length of cable that broke and buy one bit bigger to ensure you have enough cable length.
