I'm a licensed electrician and work for Verizon. I have formal training in electronics, oil burners and air conditioning. I'm mechanically inclined and love to tinker and hack (in the original sense of the word). I'm an Extra Class ham radio licensee, into digital photography (Nikon D70, D80 & D7000 dSLRS) and a couple P&S types, too. I like geocaching, snowmobiling, ATV riding, 4 wheeling and target shooting with Colt .45 and Colt 10mm handguns. I live in metro Boston but most weekends I'm playing in the "Lakes Region" of NH.
D70 & D70S CCD interchangeable?Hi - Does anyone know if the D70S CCD is a "drop in" replacement for a defective CCD in the older, straight D70? Thanks!
回答“Can not see through the lens to take picture”Hi Kathy, An SLR camera such as yours should provide an image in the eyepiece as long as the lens (1) cap is off and the mirror (2) is in the DOWN or 45 degree position. The lens projects an image into the camera body where it shines on the mirror (2) - which reflects the image UP onto the focus screen (5). This allows you to compose and focus your shot thru the prism (7) and eyepiece (8). When satisfied, the releasing of the shutter causes the mirror (2) to slap up against the focus screen (5) (that's why the image disappears until the shutter closes) to allow the image to be projected straight back on the shutter (3), which opens and closes as determined by the shutter speed and exposes the film or sensor (4). If you remove the lens, you should see the mirror at a 45 degree angle when looking straight into the camera body. The mirror should be reflecting the focus screen for you to see. It is possible that the mirror has become dislodged or damaged (as can happen when lenses not designed for a certain...
回答“Dispenser freezes the water in the reservoir”I had the same problem with my GE Profile water cooler - here's what I did: Please read completely first before attempting! Unplug from outlet. When the bottle is empty, remove it. Twist the plastic collar that the bottle rests on about 1/2" and lift up and off. I found a block of ice completely choking off flow of cold water out of the reservoir and reducing flow to the others. This points to a faulty cold water thermostat. Operate each dispenser handle to help empty the reservoirs. Optional: This can be an excellent time to clean and descale the reservoir, tubes and valves. Bring the cooler outdoors, and remove the (2) screws securing the safety strap on the right-rear side - midway up. Unscrew the plastic cap, and the remaining water in the reservoirs immediately begin to drain completely. Replace the cap. Mix up a gallon vinegar & water (1 qt. vinegar to 3 qts. water). Pour directly into top to fill the stainless reservoir completely. Open each handle until water begins to flow. Let the vinegar an...
