Would a more educated …perhap engineer know if this meter has ability to collected kVA readings used to calculate Power Factor.
PF=kW/kVA. …I think?
I have a device collecting inferred power consumption ( watts ) from the 2 main feeding my residence inside house and at entrance panel. .past meter on a 220v service. I have noticed the watts measured over a day can vary from as little as +1.4% or as much as + 41% for any given 1 hour period at my device as compared to elster r2s meter. Meter seems to be always lesser value. Not the close correlation I am seeking. ;-)
I find this interesting as my device ( eyedro.com ) does seem to match spot on …the introduction of know loads( kettle , incandecent lights ..etc ) as measureby a blue planter em100 monitoring a devices (resistive) load kettle, toaster.
Was thinking perhaps my meter ( elsterr2s ) has the ability to also collect kVA. And is making adjustment to wats consumed to corrects for inductive/capacitive loads.
