My GF broke her back panel months ago but couldn’t figure out when because it was in the case at the time. the phone is almost 2 years old & she uses it more than any other phone, so the battery was dying a natural death since it has been charged well over 800 times. She was getting about 6–7 hours of heavy use out of it.

I can fix anything so the back panel (which I helped a friend replace thanks to iFixit’s pro technician kit with the pentacle driver) took less than a minute to pull. the battery was another story. not only was the advesive unwilling to budge but the little metal part that is less than 4mm at its widest part is secured with the same screw that the connectot cable is. The iFixit pictures do not have a close up of it, so it is very difficult to see. luckily I have steady hands & was able to line up the part. If not for that tiny bit, I could have completed the battery swap & rear glass replacement in under 10m. I did have her phone back together & working in under 20m though. no photos cause this was a time sensitive operation

show a close up shot of that little part and show its alignment. A separate step to show the easiest way to reassemble that part would have been helpful.
