I had cracked my screen a few weeks ago and was starting to get a cluster of dead pixels that was travelling across the upper half of my phone.

It went really well! There were a few moments where I wasn't sure whether I was only cutting adhesive or if I had damaged some portion of the phone. The was one instance, during the actual screen removal, where I managed to spook myself. You have to cut adhesive to remove the old screen and I had managed to cut the old ribbon cable that is used to connect the screen to the motherboard (This doesn't matter because the ribbon cable is getting replaced, but it goes to show that it could've been easy to mess up when cutting)

Maybe wait a bit longer than you want to when applying the iOpener to the phone. I was constantly removing the iOpener thinking that it had been on "long enough" when it had only just started to warm the adhesive. A lot of the times I think I was cutting the adhesive with force, rather than gently slicing it from the heat; I could have easily broken something and damaged my phone further beyond use.
Another tip, there is a small black cover housing that contains the speaker for the phone that must be uninstalled in order to access the ribbon cable. The guide doesn't go over how to remove this housing, but its screwed in to the board (very visible screws) and is held in place with some retention tabs. Be careful when removing it because the tabs feel extremely solid and make it easy to flex the housing.
