Upgraded from 4gb to 8gb to increase performance of macbook pro mid-2012.

Upgraded to 8GB RAM Crucial two 4gbs, all specs correct for Macbook pro mid-2012. Every step was done precisely. Now there's a problem- Message on screen (I think when mail quits) "Your computer is low on memory to free up memory, please close applications." I just added RAM total 8gb) AND all apps are closed. Why would I get this message? I read that it could be the efi needs to be reset (if I got that right).

Any help on this?
