My iPhone 6 battery had gone bad. A full charge was lasting less than an hour.

The guide was good. All of the suggestions and comments helped, too.
The only difficult part was the sticky tape. I think that because of age and heat, the tape did not pull out as designed. It seemed to be baked on. It took about 20 minutes with a hair dryer to heat the case and a plastic card to slowly chisel the old battery out of the case.
The new battery works great. A full charge lasts me all day now. I'm happy with my phone again and no longer want to spend $1200 on a new phone.

As these iPhone 6's get older, I think the likelihood of dried tape is getting higher.
