Opening the Ipod classic 160gb(late 2009)

I broke my power port when plugging it in to my comp

It was quite the process... The blue ifixit opening tools were pretty much worthless as they aren't sharp enough to get in the crevices. I think I might have damaged the plug-in part for the battery as I tried plugging it back in but the power isn't working....

I may have damaged the ribbon for the power as I didn't clearly follow the instructions for taking it apart...I just pulled the ribbon out... I didn't realize that there was a black tab that was locking it in place.. The ribbon still looks fine though.... Since I have it open(assumming I can salvage all of my data from it), I might just change the battery to see if it helps with powering the device. I will probably purchase a few used ones, for parts at a cheap price....

Oh and a special kudos to Augie for support and for refunding my money for the opening tools!!
