Would not turn on. Paid someone $80 to fix it last time and they said that it was a thermal issue.

Went well. Step-by-step instructions were an amazing asset! Unfortunately, the guy I took it to neglected to put about 8 screws back when reassembling it, so I got a little lost a couple times. Had your guide not been available then I would not have known just how bad that guy was. I also discovered that he applied a sub par thermal paste, and stuck thermal pads in wrong spots. It powered right up instantly once reassembled. However now for some reason the fan is gradually ramping up to max speed over the first 2 to 3 minutes of being on, and I'm getting an error message saying that the system is getting too hot and needs to be powered down to cool off. This might be a result of something I did wrong during reassembly. I plan to break it back down again in the next couple of weeks if I can find the time.
