The volume would increase but would not decrease using the volume buttons. The vibrator motor would randomly go off and on for no reason.

Like a charm. There were two weeks between removing the old cable and replacing the new (and NO lost or misplaced screws!) since I live in Taiwan and had to wait until my wife returned from the US to put in the replacement. That is why it took longer than usual with he repair. Even with that gap the instructions and photos were so clear it was not difficult to get the right screws in the right place and nothing left over! I am so stoked!! Thank you, iFixit.com! Replaced the battery at the same time. It all works!
