The iPhone 6 could charge through the wall adapter, but not through a computer. A computer would also not recognize the device at all.

I have successfully swapped out the lightning connector with a different one, although the problem persists. The user cleaned out the lightning port with a paper clip and likely shorted out a connection on the logic board that allows the phone to be read by the computer. There is nothing more than can be done to fix this phone other than a logic board replacement.

When disassembling the phone, ensure to screw down the speaker securely and tightly otherwise the speaker phone will not work when you turn the device on. Also, be sure to line up the lightning connector perfectly parallel to the bottom of the phone.
