我的问题
My Nexus 7 2013 (2nd Gen) was bricked by the now notorious Android Lollipop 5.X version. There was much to like about Lollipop, right up to the point where my Nexus would not boot up. Unfortunately I had not unlocked the bootloader, so there was no hope of recovery; a new motherboard was the solution.

The Nexus 7 2nd Generation Teardown guide gave me the basic knowledge to know that I could do the repair. There are some key gaps in the guide, though. For example, greater detail in how to remove ribbon cables (there's some tech name for this type of connector; I just don't remember what it is). And, if all you need to do is replace the motherboard, it's more simple that the full teardown. But, if anybody have the nerve to even pop the back off, I guess we all assume that we can figure things out as we go.

If all you're doing is replacing the motherboard, you just remove 8 #0 Phillips screws and disconnect the connections. HOWEVER, beware of the ribbon cable that connects the back facing camera to the BOTTOM of the motherboard. It's not in plain sight, so you have to loosen up the camera housing by working it free of the adhesive that holds it in place. Then you can remove the camera at the same time as the motherboard to get the camera disconnected. I also reconnected the camera and installed it as part of the installation of the replacement motherboard.
